The actual Marathon

Here are some pics from Matthew running the Marathon. It was a record setting day for the high temperature in October for Chicago. The race was actually canceled when Matthew got to the 17-18 mile marker. He walked the remainder of the race and finished. We were very proud of him.

Chicago Marathon Weekend

We went to Chicago for the weekend so Matthew could run the marathon. A.J. was supposed to run also, but he hurt his knee during the summer and had to quit training. It was Haley's first plane trip and needless to say, I was pretty nervous about it. I was afraid her ears would start hurting, and she would be screaming. She didnt make a peep the whole plane ride. I was so proud of her.

The first day we were there we went to get their packets at McCormick Place. It is in downtown Chicago. We walked around the marathon expo there for a few hours.



After that we went on a 4 hour boatride. We rented a 44 foot yacht. It had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and was amazing. We went out on Lake Michigan and then went on the river that goes through the city. It was a cool experience.

The whole city had "Cubs fever". The businesses in the city had the lights on in their buildings to reflect the excitment of the playoffs.
