Baby Birds

We had a momma mockingbird make her nest in a crete myrtle tree next to our garage. Once she layed her eggs, Haley and I would check the nest daily to see if they hatched. It took 13 days for the babies to hatch and then they stayed in the nest about 2 weeks after that. It was so much fun to watch them grow and leave the nest. Haley loved pointing to the babies while they were still in the nest. The nest was only about 4 feet off the ground, so it was very easy to see in.

First major "boo-boo"

Haley lost her balance and fell into the bookshelf. It was the first of many fat lips. She cried hysterically until we could get her "paci" and "lovie".

Fun in July

Haley has been walking for about a month now and is getting better by the day. She can finally stand up from the sitting position, and doesnt have to crawl to something to pull up. She got lots of toys and cute clothes for her birthday, so I have taken lots of pictures of her either wearing her new clothes, playing with her new toys, or both!

Fourth of July

A.J., Randy, Matthew, Courtney and I all ran the Peachtree Road Race on the 4th of July. We had a lot of fun, but unless I train, I wont be running it again. The two grandmothers brought Haley downtown to meet us at the finish line. We cooked out at the house and then watched Chataeu Elan's fireworks from our yard. Haley had fun playing with the neighbor girls while the fireworks were happening.

Haley's 1st Birthday!

We had Haley's birthday party a week after her real birthday. A.J.'s parents were coming in town, so we wanted them to be here to celebrate with us. She loved her little smash cake and ate almost all of it.

I was quite surprised that she liked opening presents. She ripped the paper off the packages and wanted to pull out what was inside. Her favorite present was a baby doll. She didnt want to let it go and even tried to hold it before it was out of the box.

This first year has flown by. I cant believe our little 5.5 lb baby is so big. You would never be able to tell she was 4 weeks premature. She is so much fun and the light of our lives. We cant imagine life without her!!
